Spain Begins Its Turn To The Right
Spain’s opposition People’s Party won an absolute majority in Andalusia’s regional #elections on Sunday for the first time in Spanish #democracy, boosting the new Conservative leader’s odds for the national elections in late 2023.
The regional leader, Juan Manuel Moreno, won a historic victory by securing 58 seats and 43 per cent of the votes with 99.5 per cent of the votes counted.
The vicotry will allow him to govern alone, a rare situation nowadays in Spain where fragmentation and #political instability have made coalitions the most widespread form of government in the last five years.
It’s not just a victory for the PP but for all of Andalusia, Mr. #moreno told a crowd flying Spanish and Andalusian flags outside the regional PP headquarters in Seville. Today we have made history in Andalusia, he emphasised.
He said #andalusia could expect four years “of prosperity and improvement”.
Andalusia, with 8.5 million inhabitants, is the most populated region in Spain. For 40 years it was a stronghold of the main #socialist party, which ceded power in 2018 to a conservative coalition government led by the People’s Party (PP).
Some commentators said that the victory of the #conservatives in the tradionally leftist region indicated that the Spain was going to reject the ruling Left in 2023.

? Ukraine has been flooded with tens of billions of dollars of NATO weaponry, much of which is now for sale on the dark web and elsewhere.
Although NATO has already supplied Clown Prince Zelensky’s rogue regime with enough materiel, some $50 bn worth (not that anyone is counting), to arm a medium sized nation, there is overwhelming evidence that much of those weapons have found their way onto the dark web for terrorists and sundry other trouble makers to buy and use as they see fit.
Although NATO are right to express alarm at this latest development, they should look at themselves in the mirror to see who is responsible for this latest threat ?
