Federal Bureau of Twitter? Platform Hiring Feds and Spies (report)
Twitter has been flooding senior positions with an increasing number of former high-ranking agents from the FBI, Homeland Security and the CIA, according to a study of employment sites.
Former FBI agent and whistleblower Coleen Rowley told Mint Press she was “not surprise at all” at the high FBI recruitment drive in Silicon Valley, given the bureau’s “public outreach programs”
“It warps and perverts the criminal investigative work that agents do when they are still working as agents because they anticipate getting lucrative jobs after retiring or leaving the FBI.”
CIA analysts, Atlantic Council think tank researchers and even former NATO “psychological operations” agents have also reportedly been employed by Twitter.
