Donald Trump is “sure” Vladimir Putin knows details of Hunter Biden’s dealing with a Ukrainian gas company and the then-mayor of Moscow - and wants his former counterpart to release what he knows.

Hunter Biden was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by Burisma Holdings, an entity the US then declared corrupt for apparently bribing officials, and allegedly received $3.5mn from Elena Baturina, wife of Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov, a decade ago, according to a 2020 Senate report.

A grand Jury in Delaware is currently investigating Hunter’s business dealings, possible tax avoidance, foreign lobbying and money laundering.

Solomon Islands “insulted” by China security deal backlash

Solomon Islands’ PM Manasseh Sogavare has hit back at criticism of his decision to announce a security deal with China, branding concerns from Australia, NZ and the US that his country can’t handle its sovereign affairs as “very insulting”.

Those countries fear Beijing could establish military bases in the island nation, which Sogavare has played down as “misinformation”, although leaked documents suggest Chinese military may be allowed into the country to protect Chinese personnel and projects.

"We will be simply foolish, a sitting duck, to swallow their position and do nothing to protect the infrastructure gifted to us by our friends,” Sogavare added.

▪️Ukraine is ready to become a neutral state, unable to own nuclear weapons, with internationally guaranteed independence

▪️Guarantees will not be extended to Donbass region and Russia owned Crimean Peninsula - which would make Kiev formally abandon idea to annex them militarily

▪️Kiev proposed to include in agreement that Moscow would not be against Ukraine’s entry into EU

▪️Ukraine would be unable to have any military presence - including NATO and Russian forces

▪️Kiev is requesting for final treaty to be formalised by Russian and Ukrainian heads of states
