A rollicking good adventure Brendan takes on an epic trip "300 DAYS AROUND THE WORLD IN SEARCH OF THE LOST TUCKERS" in his $150 Australian car. Brendan's dream of driving a car around the world was born 30 years earlier when he had purchased a 1972 Daihatsu for $250 and drove it from Perth to Melbourne via Darwin. He pushed the dream aside for over 30 years while he led a fairly normal life including a stint in the Australian Army, the Victorian Police force, numerous business ventures, 2 marriages and a daughter. The dream never faded and often over the years he would wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat panicking about how he was going to get his car from one country to another. When opportunity knocked on his door in his 55th year he was ready, able, and willing to take on such an adventure. With the added bonus of locating as many of the 1948 Tucker cars as possible adding a bit of spice to the trip. The date to depart was set and the car prepared with virtually no more than a mud map plan and time frame set in place. Brendan,s adventure started in earnest on the 1st of February 2013 which also happens to be his 56th birthday. All the best made plans could not have imagined broken bones, unimaginable red tape, the car being lost at sea not to mention the sheer effort in driving a car around the world in 300 days. Brendan finished the trip at Federation Square Melbourne exactly on day 300 as originally planned.
