Broken systems do not self correct.
This is important to understand.
Sometimes, they need to be dismantled and People need to be allowed to try again.
Many people are waiting with bated breath for treason trials from a system that is actively enslaving them. This is the equivalent of a group of sheep waiting for one farmer to judge another for slaughtering them.
You might think this applies only to one side of politics, but it is a commonly held belief on both sides that the "other side" will be held to account by their handlers one day. Whether that be the Clintons or Trump, people dearly hold to this without specifically understanding how or what might need to occur to make such things possible.
The system is broken, though, and all "sides" are constantly learning that accountability is a fiction for first-class citizens. Only the plebeian worker class is allowed to feel the brunt of a system keeping it firmly in place. But this occurs at a pace just slow enough to create a disillusioned and dispassionate state of being, not enough to give breath to any rebellion of the People. That problem too, is checked by the system in place.
It is a perfectly functioning, broken system.
You know it. They know it.
They count on it.
When you are faced with a system like that. A system that is so far beyond the scope and capacity of the common citizen to fix that they retreat into collectively opposing fantasies, there is really only one humane solution to arrive at.
A new system is needed and whatever controlled the original system, must be replaced.
