Science! The truth! And the method.
Crises-really, the epistomological crisis of our time.
Rationality as a paradigm has shaped our culture from Plato's time to today. The results of rationalization are extraordinary whether it's in science or mathematics and in general logic. And in general the development of the scientific method.
Rationality at its core makes two significant assumptions , epistomalogical assumptions that create meaning.
The first assumption is science.
The belief that science and scientific thinking can determine what can be accepted as true or "real" and what can even be " known."
This assumption divides reality into what is subject to the laws of physics, chemistry, biology and other scientific methods or the thing as an " object." Compared to the place of the subject, spirituality, aesthetics, intuition, emotions and morals.
These places also tried to subordinate into the truth of micro-biology as electrical fluctuations of the brain.
Science in addition to determining "what can be known" also determines "how things can be known" and essentially determines the nature of reality for what is measurable and what is not. The issue is that what cannot be measured is not considered to be true and is downgraded to "unimportant" or " nonsense."
The main assumptions "to know" are-
* Objectivity-The assumption that there is an objective universe that can be explored with science
* Sustainability - Only what exists physically is considered scientifically real
* Reduction-Explain effects by the total of their constituent parts. Complete as the sum of its parts.
And here's the crisis :
When we believe that what is real and existing can only be measured in a scientific way we have left the experience of being human outside the sustainability of reality.
The second assumption is-
Knowledge is needed only for the purpose of changing the physical world for the benefit of humanity for the purpose of controlling nature, conquering space, etc.
According to Francis Beacon, the inventor of the scientific method. Which actually leads us to think that the universe is there for us to use it to our advantage and leaves us to look at how we can use it to our advantage.
When we use science to control the world we are in a dangerous and out of control zone instead of connecting us to the world, to the beauty of nature. The world no longer feels like home to us and we have removed responsibility from looking after it and connecting with it.
This crisis shapes our worldview and what we actually put emphasis on in our lives. Why spirituality, soul, intuition are regarded in society as bull****.
This crisis explains to us the detachment from ourselves, the fragmentation of the "body of mind" the existing and the spiritual.
No wonder we don't feel at peace with ourselves?
In summary:
Science is nice but it takes humanity out of the picture.
Science does not hold the truth but is just another method of explaining the world.
We need to heal the place of the soul as a legitimate source of learning.
