While this is absolutely true - and we should all have the confidence to speak our mind and represent ourselves genuinely, if you REALLY feel like you can't express yourself, even as much as you truly want to and have possibly tried several angles, then you're associating with the wrong people; you're in the wrong crowd/business. It's one thing to express an opinion that others disagree with and to feel apprehensive about it - and all is well and good if you get some constructive criticism. But if you express yourself and are threatened, controlled, abused or otherwise made to feel like you can't be who you are, then yeah, it's time to turn around and walk way. Shake the dust from your feet.
