holy ****, NYU has finally figured out what i was warning people about 2 & a half years ago! haven't read the whole report so if their conclusions are "digital ID good as long as government does it" i am not endorsing that crap. at least someone in academia has a pulse. took them long enough. ignore introduction's "don't read this" signifiers warning of "technical vocabulary" & other implicit appeals to (the writers' authority. this is pretty basic stuff to understand. if you must carry a digital biometric ID (which will contain your financial information, medical data, social network & presumably credit score, & passport data) in order to participate in society, you are not a free human being. you are a product being scanned at a giant supermarket checkout owned by BlackRock & Vanguard.
