It is fabulous how one habit has a ripple effect on the habits that follow.

For the last couple of days, I've swapped my morning coffee first thing to having my lemon water with a pinch of salt. An easy change right? But how has this affected my routine?

I've not felt like my coffee straight after, so I haven't had my decaf coffee until late in the afternoon. Now because of this, I've dropped my coffee intake from 4 coffees to 2.

A swap or a substitute, even though small, can have a ripple effect on your results.
Just over 4 years ago I switched from alcoholic wine to non alcoholic wine. Simple switch, but it has made a huge impact. I only drink non alcoholic wine for a treat now and have given up alcohol forever.

I've been listening to health coach Aubrey Marcus who talks about the addiction to nicotine for smokers. A simpler first switch could be to switch from smoking cigarettes to smoking a cigar that you don't inhale or chewing on tobacco. You get the nicotine hit without inhaling the toxic smoke into your lungs.

What have you swapped or substituted that has worked for you or what can you implement that would make a positive difference in your life?

It's all about the 1%. Becoming a little better today than you were yesterday.
How are you going to be better today than you were yesterday?
How are you going to lift your standards even higher?
What are you prepared to sacrifice to make this change?

Your integrity in business is everything. It's everything for your current and pontential future clients but more importantly, it is everything for you. You know when you are not living authentically and in your truth.

From day one of starting a business, I new that I would need to make tough decisions to keep in line with my values. When I had my recruitment and training business in 2004, I had a strict policy of working only with businesses that I felt treated employees well. This meant turning away lucrative deals that didn't align with my values.

About a week ago I got a linkedin request to connect with a person and I agreed to connect. This morning I got a message saying that because we had been connected for so long that he has a contact for me that he thinks would be of value to connect and he had messaged this person in on the message. This person then says hi and asks to schedule a time to talk. These 2 people work together and the business is helping people grow their networks.

Three words, Dirty sales tactics.

People are smarter than that and the whole transaction has definately concreted the fact that I would never use their business. A business that uses deceit as a form of reeling in new clients. No thanks.

Have you ever experienced dirty sales tactics and if so, how did it make you feel?
