RAF Typhoon fighter jets have conducted their first air policing missions in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The air force jets have started the military action, with an additional four aircraft now tactically positioned at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus

The Ministry of Defence has released a letter updating the public on the situation in Ukraine, adding that more troops are set to be deployed to Estonia.

More than 1,000 more British troops are ready to deploy, along with Challenger 2 tanks, armoured vehicles and 800 additional troops to Estonia imminently.

The UK and its allies are responding to Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine, by enhancing Ukraine’s defence capability and providing humanitarian assistance.
