How is it, we have aircraft that can ‘see’ underground? Well, they can’t, but what they can do is produce a synthetic image of what exists. Moreover, it’s hardly in its infancy. It’s called ‘airborne gravity gradiometry’. Been around for at least 3 decades and is commercially available, so, consider what the current standard is, fitted to a military aircraft or, ‘conveniently’ fitted to a civil registered aircraft in the name of ‘surveying’?
