The Leading Cause of Death in Alberta, Canada for 2021 is an Unsolved Mystery

Not COVID-19.

1. There was no category entitled “Other ill-defined and unknown causes of mortality” previous to 2019.

2. The number 1 cause of death up until 2021 was ischemic heart disease and organic dementia (for the past 20 years).

To learn more, Dr. Jessica Rose found the age and gender-stratified cause of death data and plotted (https://jessicar.substack.com/....p/does-the-mystery-l the “Other ill-defined and unknown causes of mortality” category for 2019, 2020 and 2021 but this time, stratified by age.

2021 is the winner in every single age group except for the 5-9ers in 2020, by a long shot. Is it killing males more than females? Yes. It is. Whatever it is.

So, what mystery "thing" is killing males at twice the rate of females, virtually regardless of age? Nobody knows.
