This chilling film was made a decade ago but it could have been last week.
Rik Mayall was a favourite of mine as a student. He played a ridiculous student type in The Young Ones. A very funny man.
Later in life, I suspect he went down the rabbit hole, as many of us have now also done.
He never comes back out.
So he makes this film.
Shortly after the last scene on the pavement, in which he speculates that he might be dead when you see it, he hisses urgently “Destroy your television sets. Follow no orders. That’s all I can tell you”, then he was gone.
This is the key excerpt but the whole thing is masterful. It left me disturbed for weeks afterwards. So I’m not exactly recommending it.
I think you should be aware it exists.
