El director general del mayor proveedor de energía de Ucrania, Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, se queja de los enormes daños causados por las tropas rusas en la red de gasoductos de su país. "Cada día se producen nuevos destrozos en las infraestructuras debido a los bombardeos, que intentamos reparar constantemente", dijo Vitrenko en una entrevista con la "Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland" (RND). Y añadió: "213.000 hogares ucranianos están actualmente sin gas".
Dijo que había grandes daños en la red de gas en grandes metrópolis como Mariupol o Kharkiv, pero también muchas tuberías destruidas en las ciudades y pueblos más pequeños del este de Ucrania. "La gente necesita el gas para la calefacción, la cocina y el agua caliente", dijo Vitrenko.
