What is Half A Cow?

Our mission is to bring great-tasting meat to the consumer, direct from their local farmer and butcher. Our platform enables farmers to sell their cows as “meat”. Farmers become their own brand with their own loyal customers.
By capturing more of the “value add” in the cow-to-meat product cycle, we are helping farmers to become price setters within their local communities and empowering them with an online marketplace alternative to the sale yard system.
Our platform is built from the ground up, to help farmers sell directly to consumers. It solves many of the logistical, financial, and technical challenges often associated with that process.
My Place Noosa
While this appears to be a great "feel good" initiative, and is of course oversubscribed with investors, on the financial side, the percentage equity being offered is only 10.71% of the total value of the coy. This translates to a capital value for the business based on funds raised, of $5,602,000 (million!) and they only launched 3mths ago! Incredible considering this is basically a software business with few assets that could be run from a small office. Operating profits will be massive with such low commitment costs and outgoings. Well done!
Sales were $100K in the first 90days - projected statically, this equates to only $400K per year. One could expect the sales to increase as momentum builds, but the figures still look flimsy at best with only highly speculative suggestions of a return on investors funds. Crowd funding provides better connection to investors and offers cheaper and easier access to funding from the consumer market than "floating on the stock market". It shouldn't cause people to disregard the fundamental investment calculations before they part with their cash for an overpriced business, the performance of which is yet to be proven. This is really smart because people will be misled by the emotional pitch.
Good luck in any case. If investors were offered 30%-40% of the company, showing a more realistic capvalue around $2mil, I could be interested.
