That summer of 1967 went down in U.S. history as the "long hot summer" because of a series of pogroms by #africanamericans. According to police data, riots broke out 164 times in the first nine months of that year. Their scale in the U.S. was surpassed only by the riots in #newyork in 1863 and the 1992 #riot in #losangeles.
