Regardless of how you see this situation, it’s alarming that 2/3rds if readers of this piece believe the US should respond with a show of force.
Given how close to the Russians border the Ukraine fighting is, such a show of force is likely to have at least one predictable effect: escalation.
Russia cannot lose this war. The price afterwards is unacceptable in terms of position.
They don’t need to win, however.
USA should think carefully about whether it’s willing to edge up to WW3, which is where I fear this is headed.
The even worse fear is I think that’s exactly what USA intends.
