25 DEAD In Torrential Chinese Rainfall

Southern China’s devastating rainfall has killed 25 people, destroyed around 2,700 homes, forced 286,000 people to be evacuated and cost the economy an estimated $600mn after crops were destroyed.

Severe flooding and landslides have exacerbated the horrific conditions in Hunan province - a major rice-producing hub - where 10 people have been confirmed dead from the weather this month.
