"The video addresses by Zelenskyy, which have provoked such ecstatic comment in the West, including comparisons with famous leaders of the past, remind me of hostage videos in which a well-coached and possibly heavily-medicated captive is compelled to recite a script provided by their captors, often surrounded by their insignia and dressed in fatigues or another carefully chosen costume.
How anyone can watch these painful performances - by a professional actor as well - and be left with the impression that this sickly and sullen looking man is in charge of anything is beyond me."
