? Palestinian Investigation Confirms Israeli Killed Shireen Abu Akleh

In the weeks following the heinous murder of renowned Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed in the city of Jenin in the Occupied West Bank while reporting an Israeli raid, an investigation conducted by Palestinian authorities has determined the bullet retrieved from her skull to be that of a 5.56 caliber used specifically by Israeli forces.

Furthermore, an examination of the scene and witness testimony confirmed all journalists were in visible press uniforms, within direct line of sight of Israeli forces who deliberately fired on their position without warning.

Israel denies the claim but have yet to provide any evidence to refute it. Historically, the occupational forces of Israel's apartheid regime have made a habit of targeting journalists, medics, and civilians while denying doing so despite clear and irrefutable evidence of the atrocities.

Meanwhile, many still continue to condemn the murder of Akleh as one of Israel's most gruesome war crimes to date and demand action from the International Criminal Court.

Revealed: DHS Disinformation Board Pushed for Partnership With Social Media Platforms

The unraveling of the US Department of Homeland Security’s “disinformation board” has brought to light a number of controversial and interesting insights.

One of them is that the board was supposed to serve as a tool for the government to “work with” privately-owned social media platforms—specifically Twitter—by co-opting them as “stakeholders” in efforts to suppress debate about “conspiracy theories”—such as information around COVID-19, vaccines, and election integrity.

Silicon Valley social media platforms wield enormous power in the digital public square but refuse to accept any responsibility that comes with it.

Whenever that issue is raised in the context of widespread censorship on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, etc., these giants habitually choose to play dumb by declaring themselves as nothing more than private companies. But there has long been suspicion that some of the censorship apparatus they employ often works on behalf of political actors.

Several documents leaked by a whistleblower and made public on Wednesday (June 8) by Senators Charles Grassley and Josh Hawley shows that the “disinformation board” was to cement, and in some ways formalize, this unholy alliance, that increases the confusion and controversy over the role major social media sites play in politics and society.

3 Foreign Mercenaries Who Fought for Ukraine Handed Death Sentences by Pro-Russian Donetsk Court

Donetsk People's Republic's (DPR) Supreme Court has sentenced three mercenaries captured while fighting for the Ukrainian forces, UK citizens Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner, as well as Moroccan Saadun Brahim, all received death sentences.

DPR laws only allow for one form of capital punishment—through firing squad. However, despite issuing several death penalty sentences in the past, none have been carried out.

The two British nationals had been serving in the Ukrainian military, but were captured in April while fighting in now Russian-conquered Mariupol. They appeared in a Donetsk court this week on charges of "terrorism" and "being a mercenary." On Wednesday (June 8), Russian state RIA Novosti aired footage of the men pleading "guilty" to the crimes, which critics say was coerced.

Aslin’s family has rejected the "mercenary" accusation given he was in the Ukrainian Marines. A family statement said he "is not, contrary to the Kremlin’s propaganda, a volunteer, a mercenary, or a spy." Further they said pro-Russian forces violated the Geneva conventions as they released a video of him "speaking under duress and having clearly suffered physical injuries."

?BREAKING: U.S. Finally Drops SARS-CoV-2 Testing Requirement for International Travelers

??@COVID19Up: The Biden administration is finally dropping its SARS-CoV-2 testing requirement for inbound air travelers from abroad on Sunday (June 12), ending one of the longest-running travel restrictions of the pandemic.

The rule, put in place by the Trump administration in early 2021 and later tightened by the Biden administration, most recently required inbound travelers, including U.S. citizens, to show proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test a day before boarding U.S.-bound flights. Travelers entering the U.S. at land border crossings were exempt.

Many other countries, including the U.K., had previously abandoned SARS-CoV-2 testing entry rules.

The change takes effect at 121 a.m. ET on Sunday. The CDC will reassess the decision in 90 days.

Polish President Slams Other European Leaders for Talking to Hitler-Like Putin

Polish President Andrzej Duda slammed the leaders of Germany and France over their phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Duda likened the calls to speaking with Hitler during World War II.

“Did anyone speak like this with Adolf Hitler during World War II?” Duda said. The Polish leader’s comments came after French President Emmanuel Macron drew fresh criticism for warning against “humiliating” Russia and calling for a negotiated solution to end the fighting in Ukraine.

“Did anyone say that Adolf Hitler must save face? That we should proceed in such a way that it is not humiliating for Adolf Hitler? I have not heard such voices,” Duda said.

China Warns Pentagon: We Will "Not Hesitate to Start a War" With "Anyone" Over Taiwan — "No Matter the Cost"

Beijing will "not hesitate to start a war" if Taiwan declares independence, China's defense minister warned his US counterpart Friday (June 1 in the pair's first face-to-face talks, officials said.

"If anyone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese army will definitely not hesitate to start a war no matter the cost," Wu Qian quoted defense minister Wei Fenghe as saying during a meeting with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin.

The Chinese minister also vowed that Beijing would "smash to smithereens any 'Taiwan independence' plot and resolutely uphold the unification of the motherland," according to the Chinese defense ministry.

He "stressed that Taiwan is China's Taiwan... Using Taiwan to contain China will never prevail," the ministry said.

Austin told his Chinese counterpart during the talks in Singapore that Beijing must "refrain from further destabilizing actions toward Taiwan," the US Department of Defense stressed.
