I emigrated to Perth from the UK in 2006. I have lived here in the foothills with my wife since May2013. In that time, I’ve obtained planning permission to set up my Short stay accommodation business and have undergone a scheme amendment process to be classed as a Reception Centre. Which is a garden wedding venue.
During the last 5 or 6 years I’ve become a regular attendee at Council meetings. I’ve become familiar of the due process and formal procedures of City business. Because of my interest in Council and my love for the area, I’ve applied and been accepted onto several City committees such as the rebranding committee and the Kalamunda Tourism Committee. Since becoming part of these committees I’ve met lots of great people whose goal is to promote and develop a Tourism strategy for our area. In late 2019 I was approached about becoming an executive board member of the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce. I was accepted onto the board in December 2019 at the Annual General Meeting.
